Memoir

Founded in 2008 by designer Anthony T. Kirby, Finickey is a portable haberdashery service featuring a unique collection of handmade ties and pocket squares for the discerning modern gentleman with an individual, yet classic sense of style. Our vintage fabrics are sourced from the finest mills in the UK, US, and Italy, handcrafted in the US, and presented to individual clients and shop owners in a customized, antique traveling case. Inspired by the hallowed traditions of haberdashery but attuned to the fluidity of 21st century life, Finickey is available online, in select menswear boutiques, and by appointment.

 About Anthony T. Kirby

Anthony attended the famed Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and then honed his skills by working for iconic men’s designers and retailers including Peter Elliot, Ralph Lauren, and Crockett & Jones. In 1995, he launched his first collection of menswear under the label Anthony T. New York Dress Furnishings. Favored by the glitterati including Manhattan attorney Eddie Hayes, the inspiration for Tom Wolfe’s character Tom Killian in The Bonfire of the Vanities, and Vanity Fair editor-in-chief Graydon Carter, Anthony’s impeccable taste and meticulous approach to customer service brought him great success and inspired the launch of his haberdashery endeavor FINICKEY.

What others have to say about FINICKEY

“I don't think it would be stretching it to say Anthony is one of the best-kept secrets in menswear today. I love Anthony's style: classic yet playful, with a wonderful sense of color and pattern. My favorite tie from him is always the latest one."

G. Bruce Boyer, fashion journalist, author, and former editor at Town & Country, GQ and Esquire

"If you ever get the chance to attend one of Anthony T’s trunk shows, I strongly suggest that you do. His enthusiasm and bold style are contagious."

“Generally a visit from Anthony T. becomes something of a habit for his clients, men and women alike. Maybe they mean to buy just a tie or two, but when he opens up his [case], they’re hooked.”
